As of October 10, 2017, CBC has assistance available for the following: Energy Outreach Colorado. This is assistance for heating. Our grant guidelines require that applicants must apply for LEAP funds before we can assist with EOC funds. These funds can be used for Propane, Natural gas, Electric, Wood, Pellets, Coal, Firewood, and Fuel Oil. These funds are available one time per year per household.
CBC was started in 1980 by a group of Christians wantiing to help people in need in Craig, Colorado. It was first started in a garage, and has been moved several times over the years. We have grown steadily over the years and now have an amazing location and an awesome store. CBC is a non-denomiantional, Christ centered charity that can assist people in need with shelter, rent, transportaion for medical needs, utility assistance, temporary medical needs, clothing, household goods, and other needs. There are currently 7 employees, and we have 7 members on our Board of Directors. Our current assistance funds are provided by store sales, Moffat County United Way and Energy Outreach Colorado. Every Time You Donate You Are Helping Local People In Need. The store inventory is supplied by donations from our generous community. There is a large variety of merchandise available such as clothing, books, sporting goods, household items, antiques, collectibales, glasswares, furniture, jewlery, pet supplies, fabric, toys, sporting goods, shoes, videos, electronics, and much more. Donations are sorted and marked 6 days a week and the inventory of the store changes every day.
General Assistance. These funds are provided by store sales. The funds can be used for rent, gasoline for transportation to verifiable employment, utilities, temporary shelter, and other misc. needs. These funds are limited to one time per household per year. These funds are available on the 1st of each month and available on a first come first serve basis. When the funds are depleted the general assistance will not be available until the 1st of the following month.
Medical Assistance: This is assistance for temporary medical needs. These funds are provied by Moffat County United Way. The funds can provide assisitance for prescriptions, medial supplies, medical appointments and shelter for out of town medical appointments. These funds are avialable on the 1st of each month and are available on a first serve basis. When the are depleteted the general assistance will not be available until the 1st of the following month.
Store Merchandise. Indidviduals and families that qualify and are in need can get clothing and household items one time.
